From his secret identity as a child piano prodigy (okay, maybe not prodigy) to his recent fascination with tiny beeping gadgets, he’s been rekindling his curious love affair with electronic music since 2021.

Luca Tronico (aka Luca Contato), is a multifaceted Italian artist who’s made Las Palmas de Gran Canaria his home, in between his adventures of saving the world… with video games! By day, Luca delves into video game development, and by night, he transforms into a passionate dawless musician, venturing into experimental electronic music since 2021. With musical roots tracing back to his childhood where he studied the piano, Luca rediscovered his love for music with the compact digital instruments, like the Pocket Operator, marking the beginning of his musical journey.

Durante el día, Luca se dedica al desarrollo de videojuegos y por la noche se transforma en un apasionado músico sin DAW, explorando la música electrónica experimental desde 2021. Con raíces musicales que se remontan a su infancia, donde estudió piano, Luca redescubrió su pasión por la música con los pequeño instrumento digitales, como el Pocket Operator, marcando el comienzo de su aventura musical.

Driven by the 8-bit and 16-bit sounds of the ’90s, Luca draws inspiration from game loops like Street Fighter, Tetris, and Doom, as well as iconic bands like Kraftwerk and PowerGlove. His musical style sits between nostalgic synthwave and frenetic rhythms ready to make you dance, plunging listeners into a retro-futuristic ambiance reminiscent of old arcade games. Luca’s philosophy? “Limitations stimulate creativity.” He prefers to play compact instruments, often battery-powered, allowing him to create music anywhere, anytime. For him, music is dialogue, sharing, and emotion.
